Cardi B Slams Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron For Mentioning Breonna Taylor During RNC Speech

“This is such a slap in the face,” the Bronx rap star fired off on Instagram.

Cardi B had some choice words for Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron regarding his speech at the 2020 Republic National Convention this week.

  • Cameron spoke during the second night of the convention (Aug. 26) and while he was at the podium, he mentioned Breonna’s Taylor, the 26-year-old EMT who was fatally shot by Louisville police officers while sleeping in her own home. Taylor was killed in March but none of the officers involved have been arrested or charged as calls for justice have continued to ring out at protests around the country. Cameron’s office took over the investigation into the incident back in May.

  • But, instead of giving an update on Taylor’s case, Cameron used the moment at the RNC to assert the Republican Party’s commitment to justice and railed against the protests that have swept the nation in response to police brutality against African-Americans.

“In fact, it was General Dwight Eisenhower who said democracy is a system that recognizes the equality of humans before the law,” Cameron said. “Whether you are the family of Breonna Taylor or David Dorn, these are the ideals that will heal our nation’s wounds. Republicans will never turn a blind eye to unjust acts, but neither will we accept an all-out assault on western civilization.”

  • This did not sit right with Cardi B and she proceeded to let know as much on Instagram.

“This is such a slap in the face. Like damn my n***a. Not once have you said nothing about the arrest of the officers that killed Breonna Taylor. Not once have you shown effort of bringing justice to Breonna Taylor and here you are at the podium of the [Republican National Convention] talkin’ ‘bout justice [for] America and all this b*lls**t.

“You [are] sooo blinded by your MASTERS that you don’t even notice that [they’re] using you as a pawn to trigger YOUR OWN KIND!" she continued. "Never would they ever [have] you up there if you [weren't] in charge of [the] Breonna Taylor case.”

  • Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, later offered her sentiments on Cameron invoking her daughters name in a written statement obtained by WDRB.

“It was nice to see him using a national platform to remind those watching the Republican convention of my daughter’s name,” Palmer said. “I hope the next time we see him he’s telling the country he’s charging all officers responsible for my daughter’s death (or murder) and is committed to getting her overdue justice.”
