Rick Ross Throws Shots at Timbaland
Rick Ross blasted Timbaland over the similarities between the Mosely Music Group imprint and his Maybach Music Group.
This past weekend, Timbo Instagrammed a promo shot of his new label logo, which looks somewhat similar to Rozay’s MMG, and before long the 38-year-old was taunting him on Twitter. “Does Super Producer @Timbaland wanna be us? Lol where Magoo @MissyElliott @ElliottWilson @rickyrozay,” read a tweet from the Maybach Music Group page.
The Bawse followed it up with his own tweet, asking, “@Timbaland #WhereMagoo,” but didn't get a response.
Timbaland’s label was founded three years before Maybach Music Group and is derived from the producer’s last name (Mosely), whereas Ross’s imprint is named after the Mercedes luxury car. Ross has no official connection to Maybach, beyond being a fan of the vehicle.
The turmoil between the two may be stemming from the veteran producer releasing a never-before-heard version of “Movin’ Bass,” featuring the Miami rapper and Timbaland’s artist Tink. Ross said in an interview that he was “disappointed” by the leak.
