Teddy Riley And Babyface Will Face Off In Next Instagram Live Battle
Perhaps, *the* battles of all Instagram Live battles is about to go down.
With an increase in demand for live-streamable entertainment due to the coronavirus crisis, Instagram has become the premier destination for music lovers. DJ D-Nice lead the wave with his historical #ClubQuarantine moment. Since then, super-producers Swizz Beatz and Timabaland have brought together other hip-hop and R&B legends to give the people what they want in their newly-launched #VERZUZ IG battles. This past Wednesday night (April), Scott Storch and Mannie Fresh put on an epic duel that over 200,000 people tuned in to watch. Even though Scott emerged victorious from the face-off, Swizz saluted both men for showing up for the culture and the crown.
Next up on deck is singer-rapper-songwriter phenom T-Pain, who will face off against the King of Crunk, Lil Jon, on Saturday (April 4). Ahead of the weekend, Swizz and Timb dropped off a major bomb, revealing the names of the next two combatants that will also go head-to-head this weekend: hip-hop/R&B pioneer Teddy Riley and music legend Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
“This is one of the iconic moments me & [Timbaland] have been working on!” Swizz announced on Instagram. “[This] Sunday will go down in the history books! Once again, VERZUZ made it happen! See you Sunday 6 PM EST on @teddyriley1 Live.”
This news, coupled with T-Pain and Lil Jon’s approaching match, has social media spiraling off into pandemonium. “So we got Lil Jon vs. T-Pain on Saturday. Then we got Babyface vs Teddy Riley on Sunday?? The late 20s-40+ crowd are going to be LIVING this weekend,” one user celebrated on Twitter.
