BET UK Announces Five New Shows On Black British Queer Life, Music And Relationships
Five new original projects that include shows on Black British queer life and Black music are coming to BET-U.K., which will complement BET’s U.S. programming pipeline, Deadline reports.
Bob Hearts Abishola creator and co-star Gina Yashere is slated to narrate Moments That Shaped: Queer Black Britain. Tonye Mak is the talented director behind The Evolution of Black British Music and Dating Black that’s designed to spark discussions around “radical, transformative and aspirational” Black love. Also in the programing pipeline, are Iconic Albums (2000s) and Me And My Mum.

“This is an exciting raft of new commissions which solidifies us as a go-to destination for Black British stories,” said Cicelia Deane, BET-U.K.’s editorial and commissioning executive.
