Happy Birthday, Weezy? Lil Wayne Ordered by Judge to Pay $160K to David Banner
Despite hoping to celebrate his 34th birthday today (September 27), Lil Wayne was hit with the type of news that would damper anyone’s special day.
As reported, Weezy is being ordered by the court to pay David Banner over $160,000 as a result of not responding to the lawsuit being made against him and his imprint, Young Money Records.
Banner filed a lawsuit against the rapper’s label claiming that he was owed money for tracks he produced on both Tha Carter III and We Are Young Money.
According to TMZ, a judge ordered Wayne’s label to pay Banner $164,303.19, ruling in a default judgment because Weezy and his company failed to respond to the case.
Interestingly enough, Wayne is also currently amid a similar lawsuit himself, claiming Birdman owes him $51 million for past work. The latest update regarding that case came yesterday (September 26) with Weezy possibly gaining a small victory with Birdman being ordered by the court to present financial documents.
Hopefully Wayne will end up having better luck in the courtroom next time.
