#LoveWins from coast to coast, but Michael Sam may have lost his. The former NFL player and his fiancé, Vito Cammisano, reportedly called it quits on their relationship, at least according to recent evidence.
The couple, who got engaged earlier this year at St. Peter's Basilica, haven't been seen coupled up in a number of weeks, and Cammisano was spotted without his ring in a recent video posted to social media. What's more, Sam pulled out of training camp for the Montreal Alouettes for "personal reasons," according to the Daily Mail. Sam also removed all evidence of Cammisano, including their engagement photo, from Instagram.
Sam does, however, have photos of Cammisano still up on Twitter and his Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which he received from ESPN last year, is seen in the background of Cammisano's video. So all could be fine, but there's compelling evidence that there's something amiss between these lovebirds.
Sam and Cammisano have not been shy about sharing their affection for each other in both traditional media and social media. The football player, the first openly gay one in the NFL, even gave Cammisano a passionate kiss on live TV when he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams. His career has fallen on hard times lately, though, starting with being dropped by the Rams. Maybe the stress and publicity was too much for their relationship?
We won't know for sure until one or the other decides to talk, but for now we'll hold out hope that this is all just a big misunderstanding. Sammisano, forever!
