Kendrick Lamar to Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

The highly anticipated event will take place in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.

How many ways can Kendrick Lamar say checkmate?

On Sunday (Aug. 8), Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL announced that the “Not Like Us” hitmaker will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar said in a press release. JAY-Z, whose Roc Nation co-produces the halftime show, added, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Lamar and Dave Free’s pgLand will provide the creative direction for the highly anticipated performance.

As previously mentioned by BET, in June, the Compton rapper held the most iconic Juneteenth concert, “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends,” at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. It was dubbed a moment that goes down in rap history as Lamar brought out the whole West Coast on stage and even performed his diss records towards Drake, including the most popular “Not Like Us,” five separate times.
