Luke Cage star Mike Colter was the latest victim of an online attack from Black folks upset that he has a white wife.

During a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, producers flashed a picture of the actor with his wife, Iva — and to say the audience was vocal about their disappointment is an understatement. Now, Colter is addressing the surprising backlash against his interracial relationship speaking with The Breakfast Club.

"I met my wife when I was struggling in grad school. Listen, she stuck with me, it's been 16 years. It's a long way. She's held me up many times, and I've held her up before," he explains to Charlamagne. "People don't understand, when it comes to being with someone long term, it's way more than skin color that's going to make it work."
