Leading Women Defined: Bozoma Saint John Honored With Butterfly Award
BET Networks’ Leading Women Defined Summit honored one of the business world’s most savvy minds at the annual Dorothy Height Luncheon on Wednesday (March 2). Bozoma Saint John, Head of Global Consumer Marketing, Apple Music & iTunes, was named this year’s Butterfly Award recipient in recognition of her passion for innovation.
The self-proclaimed “badmamajama” has plenty of spunk to go along with her know-how. In her acceptance speech, she said she would use her award as a daily reminder of “the butterfly effect” she embodies that can help positively change the world.
Speaking with CentricTV.com’s Kela Walker, she opened up about how it felt to be this year’s honoree. “It’s so wonderful because it is a celebration of the journey and the transformation into what is beautiful, both on the exterior and the interior,” she said. “And it really is a culmination of the path, that transformation…the pain, the struggle and then turning it into something that’s positive.”
In addition to the award presentation, the luncheon hosted an intimate conversation with U.S. Senate candidate and current Attorney General of California, Kamala Harris.
