Snoop Dogg’s Sexual Assault Accuser Revives Case
Back in April, BET.com reported Snoop Dogg’s sexual assault accuser dropped the charges after the plaintiff asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, prompting U.S. District Judge George H. Wu to order the dismissal as requested.
Well, it looks like the case is being picked up again as the sexual assault accuser resubmitted the lawsuit at a California district court on Wednesday (July 20) according to Rolling Stone.
The revived case includes the original sexual assault and sexual battery claims, as well as a defamation claim alleged in an amended complaint filed in March.
The woman referred to as Jane Doe, claims Snoop Dogg intended to “threaten, intimidate and coerce [her] into not exercising her constitutional rights to engage in a mediation” via a thinly-veiled Instagram post addressing the original lawsuit.
The revived lawsuit also claims Snoop threatened to “pursue a malicious prosecution action” against the woman for “tens of millions of dollars” in retaliation.
“The complaint refiled today against Snoop Dogg by ‘Jane Doe’ and her attorney is meritless,” a spokesperson for Snoop shared with HipHopDX.
“It follows Jane Doe’s attorney’s voluntarily dismissing just a few months ago her previous complaint on the alleged matter. He also dismissed an earlier complaint – this is the third try. As before, this refiled complaint is riddled with and predicated upon falsehoods and inaccuracies. Moreover, as Jane Doe and her attorney know or should know, Jane Doe has never been Snoop Dogg’s employee.”
The origin of this case comes from the accuser who had accused the rapper and his affiliate Bishop “Magic” Don Juan of sexual assault after receiving a ride from them after leaving Snoop’s show in Anaheim, California back in 2013.
