DNA was used to identify the remains of New York City resident Ernest James, 40, who perished during the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001, New York Daily News reports.

James worked inside the World Trade Center as a risk manager at Marsh & McLennan brokerage firm.

He was one of 2,753 people killed when two planes crashed into the 110-story towers, the report adds.

Of those victims accounted for, only 1,629 have been identified.

The city medical examiner told the Daily News that DNA evidence was used to make 91 percent of those identifications.
