Shirley Caesar Is Cashing Out on the #UNameItChallenge
With Thanksgiving just several days away, #UNameIt season is about to be in full swing.
Last week, the internet had us all rolling with every unique take on the #UNameItChallenge, which is built off of a snippet of gospel singer Shirley Caesar's "Hold My Mule." Considering the singer has shared that she's been personally blown away by the response, it only makes sense that she is now hoping to capitalize off of the exposure.
However, in the true spirit of Thanksgiving and Caesar's lifelong missions alike, she has decided to use her viral fame to help benefit a good cause.
The pastor has had special merch made, including an apron with the words "I got beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes" fittingly printed on it, and will be using the proceeds to help feed those in need. She also will put some of the money towards supporting her work through her ministry.
"I'm so happy to see everyone enjoying the remix of my song," Caesar shared on her new website. "Let's use this for something good and bring beans, greens, potatoes and tomatoes to those without this holiday season!"
