5 Other Duos That Impressed This Year
The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards is still the talk of the town after airing last Tuesday (Oct. 5), as the exciting night was flooded with hip hop royalty, skits from 85 South, performances from Baby Keem and speeches from legends like Jermaine Dupri.
After asking fans to share their opinion on who will win the “Best Duo Or Group” by voting online, Lil Baby and Lil Durk came out victorious, a response on par with their The Voice and The Heros tape debuting at number one on Billboard.
As we continue to recap hip hop's biggest night out, we decided to take a look at the other duo honorable mentioning who’s also delivered this year.
Wale - Poke It Out (feat. J. Cole)
Wale and J. Cole have been partners in crime on collaborations dating back to when they were drunkenly freestyling at a Dennys on their first-ever tour.
From “Winter Schemes” to “My Boy” on Wale’s Free Lunch ep, the two always bring it out of each other, which was the case with their combined efforts here as well.
Young Dolph, Key Glock - Aspen
Young Dolph and Key Glock’s Memphis chemistry has proven strong enough for them to collaborate on two studio albums together. Their Dum and Dummer series has brought forth the hits “It Feels Different”, “Aspen,” “If I Ever,” and more.
Future & Lil Uzi Vert - That's It
Why the combination of Future and Uzi didn’t get talked about more this year is beyond me. The Atlanta "Dirty Sprite" rapper and the Philadelphia punk star have styles that complement each other very well and, quietly, had one of the best projects of the year with Pluto X Baby Pluto.

Lil Wayne, Rich The Kid - Feelin' Like Tunechi
Lil Wayne and Rich The Kid’s joint project, Trust Fund Babies, although just released this past week (Oct.1 ), proves that if you give Lil Wayne and some quality beats, there’s nobody he won’t sound good beside. Although the pairing made many scratch their heads, it shows Wayne rapping at his best.
