The New England Patriots receiver wants to pay the fine of the linebacker who leveled him last Thursday night. Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster was slapped with a $20,000 fine his hit on Ochocinco in the first quarter of the Patriots win.
Oddly, Ochocinco saw nothing wrong with the vicious hit, going as far as to the say it was “great.”
Following the game the new Patriot tweeted: "great hit last night,if u're fined I'll reimburse u boss. That's the way the game should b played.Stay healthy n have a good yr."
Ochocinco maintained his promise once the fine was handed down Wednesday. He sent a note to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Twitter with a rather odd personal touch.
"Dad no disrespect but I don't agree with @mason_foster fine n I'll be reimbursing him personally," @Ochocinco wrote to @nflcommish. "Please feel free to contact me."
According to espnboston.com, the NFL does not allow players to pay other players fines. But certainly there is no rule against reimbursing another player. However, it’s hard to imagine Foster would accept the money from Ochocinco knowing the attention it would receive.
