Twitter Is Not Here for Zac Efron's MLK Day Tweet

He was forced to delete and apologize.

Zac Efron got his first taste of the wrath of Black Twitter this week when his Martin Luther King Day tweet crossed the line.
The Dirty Grandpa actor angered a lot of people when he posted a photo of himself cruising in a convertible with the caption, "I'm grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million followers on IG #MLKDay." To make matters worse, Efron paired his message with a pair of dark-skinned hand emojis, one giving a fist bump and the other pointing toward heaven.
The backlash was swift. "How did Zac Efron attempt to make MLK day about himself I am so baffled," one user wrote. "This is one of the most offensive/diminishing/disrespectful things anyone has said in relation to MLK today. Get over yourself," added another.
Efron deleted the tweet within hours and replaced it with an apology:

Welp, live and learn.
On the topic of offensive tweets, Zac's was bad but not anywhere close to this celebrity's record:
