Jay-Z Talks Watch the Throne Delay
This past January, Kanye West made the grand announcement that he’d release Watch the Throne, a collaborative project with Jay-Z. Although the proposed project has since produced the notable single “H.A.M.” and another one reportedly featuring Beyoncé and Bruno Mars is said to be on the way, there hasn’t been much talk of a release date. Now, more than three months later, Jay-Z, who’s on the latest cover of Delta’s Sky magazine, explains why you’ll be waiting to watch the throne a little bit longer.
According to Hov, their individual fame is stopping the two rap stars from making it to the studio. “Before success, there weren’t interviews or photo shoots,” recalls Jay. “Now it’s a big thing to get in the studio. It’s like a process just to get there. And once I’m there, I have to dial into an emotion.”
Jay also took a moment to address the lingering rumors about his involvement with the Illuminati. “I just think people can’t handle when somebody is successful,” he said. “Something has gotta be wrong; you gotta be down with some high power. And I guess when someone else is successful, it makes you feel like maybe you’re a failure. So it can’t be you, it has to be some other force.”
