Kamala Harris Selects Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be VP Running Mate

According to CBS News, Walz has a background representing rural communities and served two terms as the Minnesota governor.
Walz's professional journey includes a significant tenure in education. He earned a bachelor's degree in social science education from Chadron State College and later a master's in educational leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Walz transitioned to politics in 2006, winning a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for Minnesota's 1st congressional district. He served in Congress from 2007 to 2019, focusing on veterans' affairs, agriculture, and infrastructure. In Congress, he was known for his advocacy for veterans and his moderate political stance.
In 2018, Walz was elected governor of Minnesota, emphasizing themes of unity and progress. His tenure has been marked by efforts to improve public education, support clean energy initiatives, and enhance healthcare access. He was re-elected in 2022 and has continued to push for policies aimed at benefiting middle-class Minnesotans and protecting reproductive rights.
