Kim Kardashian's fans could not help but notice, recently, that the reality star's return to social media was approached with less glamor and a more understated simplicity — more so than usual. Some are even calling Kim's latest vintage-esque photos a mockery of a middle class or "poor" lifestyle that, judging from her past and reality show digs, doesn't ring true to her way of life

Now, the mystery has been solved as to whom the house Kim's latest Instagram photos have been taken in, and there seems to be a logical reason as to why they were taken.

According to TMZ, the washed out photos were taken at legendary producer Rick Rubin's Malibu house. Kanye has reportedly been spending a lot of time there for recovery purposes following his public mental breakdown.

The producer reportedly offered 'Ye the pad as a place of refuge where he can clear his head and escape, and Kim has regularly visited him while he's been staying there.

While many have accused Kim of taking the photos to downplay her lavish lifestyle following her traumatic Paris robbery, TMZ reports that the photos aren't meant to serve as a cover-up, but rather a record of the emotional space the Kardashian-Wests are currently in.
