'Hit the Floor' Brings You an All-Woman Writing Staff
Nothing says bad a** like an all-woman writing staff.
On July 9, 2017, James LaRosa, the creator of Hit the Floor, announced his excitement for the return of Season 4.
Aside from a new season, the idea of an all-woman writing staff is, well, amazing! According to a 2016 Writers’ Guild Report, only 26 percent of TV and film writers are women. Although the writing room is known to be dominated by men, 2017 has slowly but surely presented itself as an exciting time for women in Hollywood. Shows such as Queen Sugar, Harlots, Chewing Gum and I Love Dick are also written by women. And we are SO here for it.
Hit the Floor previously aired on VH1 and is now coming to BET! In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know the scandalous goodness that is Hit the Floor, the show follows members of the Los Angeles Devils basketball team and the lovely ladies of the team's L.A. Devil Girls dance squad. The show gives us a peek into the sometimes crazy, always entertaining lives of the dancers and the twists and turns that come with being part of the spotlight.
We can't wait to show you what Hit the Floor has in store for the new season! Stay tuned for more information and be sure to check out BET.com for updates!
