Absolutely heartbreaking.

As the Miami Marlins and hundreds of fans assembled for late teammate Jose Fernandez's memorial Wednesday, his pregnant girlfriend, Maria Arias, was seen grieving publicly for the first time since the pitcher's shocking death due to a boating accident early Sunday morning. He was 24.

Arias, also 24, joined the Marlins outside of their home stadium in Miami to walk beside Fernandez's hearse to St. Brendan's Catholic Church as part of his memorial service.

The scene that followed was incredibly emotional.

What makes this story all the more tragic is Fernandez had just posted a touching Instagram shot of Arias last Thursday, gushing about their future journey together, just three days before his untimely death.

So sad.
