Kevin Love Opts Out of Deal With Cavaliers
Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers didn't fool anyone.
As expected, Love opted out of the final year of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, despite both sides being coy for months about the situation. ESPN is reporting that the three-time All-star is entering the free-agency market.
Although Love has said that he wants to remain with the Cavs earlier this month and ESPN is reporting that Cleveland's plan is to re-sign him, that won't stop teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers from vying for his services.
Love averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds this year, before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury during the first round of the playoffs. The Cavs wound up also losing Kyrie Irving to a season-ending injury during the NBA Finals, where they came up short against the Golden State Warriors.
Let's see where he winds up.
