Nine Percent of Voters in North Carolina Want Deez Nuts as President
The 2016 presidential election fell down the rabbit hole when Donald Trump became a semi-serious candidate, but we're officially in Wonderland now that Deez Nuts is polling strongly in the battleground states. That's right, a candidate named Deez Nuts has thrown his hat into the ring and nine percent of Americans would vote for him if the election took place today.
Deez Nuts went viral with his candidacy earlier today (the FEC paperwork has been filled out and everything) when he showed up in poll after poll right behind Hillary Clinton and Trump, proving that residents of Iowa, North Carolina and a handful of other states either have a great sense of humor or are really, really tired of the other candidates.
Rolling Stone tracked down Nuts and found out he's a 15-year-old high school sophomore from Iowa named Brady Olson. He told the magazine he leans Libertarian, though "I'm fifteen, so I haven't been registered yet." He says people should vote for him, though there will be at least five elections between now and the year he's legally allowed to be Commander-In-Chief, "because I'm young and I think I have fresher ideas because whatever decisions I make would have longer effects on me."
