No Charges Against George Zimmerman in Domestic Dispute With Wife
Police say there is not enough evidence to charge George Zimmerman in the domestic dispute with his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, that took place at their home in September, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The video authorities were attempting to salvage was on Shellie Zimmerman's iPad, but her husband tore it apart and threw it on the ground during the dispute. The police sent the device to the U.S. Secret Service in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in hopes that they could recover the video, but the damage was too extensive.
On Sept. 9, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 after her father and her estranged husband got into a scuffle. She said Zimmerman threatened her father with a gun, but police later found no weapon on the former neighborhood watch volunteer.
She was moving her belongings out of the home she once shared with George Zimmerman when he showed up to the house. The couple began arguing about "pots and pans," according to Mark O' Mara, Zimmerman's attorney, when the dispute began.
