The search for a 5-year-old girl in suburban Arizona continues.
On Monday morning, police in Phoenix’s suburb of Glendale asked for the continued help of the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of Jahessye Shockley. She has been missing for almost a week tomorrow.
Sgt. Brent Coombs said investigators worked through the weekend to examine every interview, tip and contact in the search for the young girl.
On Friday morning, an amber alert for Jahessye was canceled as a result of standard amber alert procedures that typically only remain in effect for 8 to 10 hours. The original alert was issued on Wednesday morning.
The 3-foot-5-inch, 55-pound girl went missing around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
A tip came in Wednesday that a Black female between 25 and 30 years old and around 120 pounds, with black hair in a bun and brown eyes, was seen putting a child that reportedly matched Jahessye’s description in a vehicle.
Police said the woman was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans rolled up to her mid-calf.
Jahessye was last seen wearing a solid white T-shirt, blue jean shorts and pink flip-flops.
