Bobby Shmurda Could Be Getting Out of Jail Soon
Christmas could be coming early for Bobby Shmurda. If all goes well in court, the 21-year-old rapper will be released on bail as early as tomorrow, TMZ reports.
Shmurda has been locked up on conspiracy and drug charges since late last year, and he was denied bail in October. His family is working hard to post the $2 million bond amount. An aunt reportedly put up several properties as collateral.
Lawyers for Shmurda compiled a 200-page document detailing where all of the bond money will come from. They’re reportedly confident the request will be approved.
Shmurda’s family has been working with Ira Judelson, a New York City bondsman well known to celebrity and other high-profile cases. Judelson has handled bonds for Lil Wayne, Plaxico Burress, and disgraced former French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn, whose $6 million bond was among the largest in New York’s history.
When reached for a statement, Shmurda's attorney Alex Spiro told BET.com, "I cannot comment at this point."
