Gayle King Weighs in on Megan Thee Stallion’s Reference to Her in New Doc

The Grammy Award winner sat down with King following the 2020 shooting incident involving rapper Tory Lanez.

Gayle King is taking the high road after the new Megan Thee Stallion documentary dropped bombshells, revealing the rapper wasn’t entirely truthful during their 2020 sit-down.

In a new Instagram post, King recalled hearing about the comments Megan made in the project, titled “Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words.”

“Hey, I’m just sitting here, minding my own business, and people are reaching out to me saying, ‘Hey Gayle, Megan Thee Stallion just called you a bitch,'” she explained.

“Well, I know you’re expecting me, or maybe you’re thinking I have something negative to say. I do not…. I have nothing but great, great love and respect for Megan Thee Stallion and cheering her on always,” King continued. 

The longtime journalist emphasized that there are more pressing matters in the world today, shifting her focus to the 2024 presidential elections.

In Megan's new documentary, released by Amazon Prime on Halloween, the “Hiss” emcee admitted to lying about her involvement with Tory Lanez during her exclusive interview with King.

Reflecting on the moment, she says, “Yes, bitch, I lied to Gayle King, bitch. First of all, I didn’t know that bitch was gon’ even ask me about that shit, we supposed to be talking about this shooting, why is you asking me about fucking Tory [Lanez]?”

She adds, “That’s not what this is about. Even if it was, I fucked this n–ga like once, maybe twice, on a drunk night. Bitch kept catching me out of my fucking mind.”

“Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words” chronicles the Houston native’s journey from a freestyle rapper to a global sensation, highlighting significant moments such as the loss of her mother and the struggles she faced after the shooting incident involving Lanez.
