Did Mathew Knowles Accuse Beyoncé of Lying About Her Age?
Mathew Knowles isn’t shooting for a Christmas — or Father’s Day — gift from Beyoncé in the near future. For his latest test at verbal trickery, Knowles implied that his own daughter is lying about her age.
The slip-up came when Knowles sat down with The Breakfast Club last week. He stated that 34-year-old Beyoncé is the same age as Pink, who happens to be 36, and Usher who just made 37.
“[Destiny’s Child] had a competitiveness,” Knowles said. “LA [Reid] had a girls group but I bet you don’t know who his lead singer was... Pink! She was the exact same age as Beyoncé and there used to be this battle about which group was better. We had Usher, he was the same age. They were all 14 or 15 years old.”
Either Knowles is confused or he’s suggesting that Beyoncé is actually older than we thought. As far as the world knows, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born Sept. 4, 1981, yet the age rumor has circled around her for a while.
Gabrielle Union once said that she and Bey have been friends since they were teenagers. The only problem there is, Union is 42 years old.
So will Bey finally set the record straight? We'll have to wait and see.
