T.I. Got Tired of 'Blocking Bullets' for Iggy Azalea
Iggy Azalea's had a pretty odd year so far. With her constant run-ins on social media with her peers and critics alike, underperforming singles and even axing an entire world tour, she's been having a pretty tough time. Now, adding one more L to the list, the Aussie rapper has now lost one of her biggest backers: T.I..
Tip stopped by Ebro in the Morning earlier this week and explained exactly when and why he decided to cut ties with his former protégé. "In her defense, she had a lot thrown at her at one time," he said. "Any human being anywhere gon' have a hard time adjusting... Some stuff they brought upon themselves. In some cases, it kind of was just the easiest place to put some pent-up aggression."
So what exactly pushed the "Why You Wanna" rapper to stop working with Azalea? It seems it was her infamous response to hip hop vet Q-Tip that made him pause and reevaluate. "After the Q-Tip thing," he said. "After I kind of had smoothed it over, like 'OK, 'What is really meant to be said here is...' After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished]."
Continuing to explain the situation, it was clear that the Atlanta MC was sick of cleaning up the "Fancy" rapper's messes over and over again. "I'ma be all the way real: I'm a loyal partner. If I rock with you, I'm gon' rock with you," he said. "If we right, wrong, we'll discuss that in the car... That's just how I am. Right now, I'm going to block the bullets, now go. Now when I say 'Go,' [really] go. Don't stand around and talk while I'm blocking bullets. You slowing me down."
There you have it. After the Aussie rapper's spats with countless of her fellow musicians, including Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Eminem and, of course, Azealia Banks, it only seemed like a matter of time.
