Talib Kweli Surprises With Free New Album, F**k the Money
We can always count on Talib Kweli to put social and political discontent into a tight flow, and the conscious rapper has done just that with a surprise new album called F**k the Money.
As you can probably guess, the record takes aim at capitalism with lyrics like, “But when pursuit of the money is your only goal, then you lose control, then you lose your soul.” He goes on to blast lying politicians and "bankers who routinely crash the system," declaring that "capitalism is a cataclysm."
The album is — appropriately — free of charge for Talib's fans. All he asks is that you join KweliClub.com and a download link is all yours. Miguel, Patrick Stump, Ab-Soul, Styles P and
South African rapper Cassper Nyovest join him on the album.
The politically-conscious rapper recently went head-to-head with Bill Maher over Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' track record on race, and last year helped raise $100,000 to support protest activities in Ferguson, Missouri.
