Plastic Surgeon Blames Kanye West's Cousin for Death of Donda
The plastic surgeon accused of causing the death of Kanye West's mother says the tragedy wasn't his fault.
Instead, Dr. Jan Adams claims in a new interview, he blames West's cousin Stephan Scoggins, who was responsible for Donda West's post-operative care following her 2007 procedures. Now, Adams is calling on Yeezy to come forward and clear his name.
“It baffles me when nobody wants to know the truth,” Adams says. “I think [Kanye] should stand up and tell the truth, and the truth will set you free." He adds, “I think the truth needs to be out there. If he had any b***s or if he was any kind of man he could [speak up]. But the real answer is he probably won’t.”
Among Adams' allegations against Scoggins, a registered nurse with a Ph.D. in public health, are that Scoggins insisted on moving West's post-op care to her home rather than a private recovery center, he didn't install proper monitoring equipment and he left Donda under the care of untrained people a day after her surgeries to attend a baby shower.
“Most people that I run into think she died on the table, they don’t even know this lady was home for a day,” says Adams. “The truth hasn't been revealed.”
Scoggins, of course, denies the allegations. “It is absolutely not the case, it’s not, so thanks for stopping by,” he told the NY Daily News. Asked about his absence for the baby shower, he replied, “That is actually an account that is so long ago and of course the details of that are not even all completely true, but certainly nothing I continue to discuss.”
