Game Sued for Punching Off-Duty Cop
Game might soon find out the cost of punching an off-duty cop. The rookie LAPD officer, Onyebuchi Awaji, filed a lawsuit Monday (April 6), TMZ reports.
Awaji alleges Game hit him so hard that he may have brain damage, according to the suit. He asserts that the attack was unprovoked, noting that the 35-year-old rapper fled once police were called. Authorities are said to be investigating both men.
The altercation went down during a basketball game at Hollywood High School last week. Game claims Awaji was the instigator and that he attacked in self defense.
Sources say that while the two were on the court, Awaji elbowed Game in the back and threatened to get a gun out of his gym bag. If his story rings true, Awaji could face disciplinary action with the LAPD.
At press time, Game’s rep did not respond to our request for comment.
