Nelly Headlines Iraq Concert to Support Victims of ISIS
Nelly's good deed turned into a historical feat as his benefit performance in Northern Iraq in support of ISIS's victims saw him become the first American artist to perform in the region.
The Nellyville star hit the stage at Iraqui Kurdistan for the show in the city of Ebril. The Rwanga Foundation, which sponsored and hosted the benefit concert, confirmed the news that the emcee is "the first American artist to perform in the city's 8,000-year history."
The event welcomed 15,000 attendees and raised money for individuals who were displaced by the recent ISIS conflict and adversely affected by the terrible dispute taking place in the Middle East. The concert also helped raise funds for the Peshmerga, a Kurdish fighting force fighting ISIS and their biggest counter.
