Beanie Sigel's Sister-in-Law Becomes Person of Interest in Shooting
Authorities have named several persons of interest in Beanie Siegel’s shooting and are now including his sister-in-law, Kamilah Salahuddin.
According to NBC Philadelphia, police in Pleasantville, N.J., have been unable to get in contact with Kamilah, whose car was seen fleeing the scene following the incident. Her brother, Umar Salahuddin, as well as other members of Sigel’s family, was interviewed by authorities. Umar is believed to have been involved in the fight that led to the shooting.
Rick Childress, another person of interest, reportedly jumped from Kamillah’s gray Honda Odyssey after the shooting. Police have already questioned and released him, while the vehicle was later found abandoned.
Evidence has been gathered from the minivan, although it is unclear what cops uncovered. “Right now, the detective doesn’t have much to go on,” said Pleasantville Police Captain Rocky Melendez. “The detectives have brought a lot of people in for questioning, but unfortunately no one’s talking.
Sigel, who is currently hospitalized and intubated, was not the intended target. He was shot in the torso just after dropping his children off to school. The 40-year-old rapper has not been well enough to speak with authorities.
