Arrest Warrant Issued for Gucci Mane
A fan seeking an autograph from Gucci Mane in Atlanta on Friday got an unwelcome surprise.
WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the rapper for hitting a man in an Atlanta club over the head with a champagne bottle. The fan, who identified himself to the "Freaky Gurl" rapper's security guard as a war veteran, claims he was simply asking for an autograph when Gucci Mane struck him without provocation.
"I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle," says the former Army officer, who returned home from Afghanistan in October and was celebrating his birthday with friends when he spotted the rapper. The fan says he was stunned when Gucci struck him. "And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face," the fan adds.
"We do have an active warrant for Mr. Davis for aggravated assault," Lt. Jeff Cantin of the Atlanta Police Department says. "So I'm sure after he sees this, I'm sure he'll want to reach out and contact us."
"That is dangerous because if there was to be any other fan trying to approach him, ain't no telling what else he might do to them," the fan said, adding that he has a concussion and is suffering from bad headaches. "He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career."
The rapper, born Radric Davis, hasn't commented on the incident nor turned himself in to law enforcement as of Sunday evening.
