Nicki Minaj is making good on her promise to perform a free show for her NYC fans after abruptly pulling out of Hot 97 Summer Jam in June. The special concert will take place at the Roseland Ballroom on August 14, the same day Minaj is scheduled to hit the Today Show, and is being sponsored by Pepsi.
“Hey barbz, I’m happy to announce my #Free #pinkfridaytour show in #NewYork is going down on aug14th. (This is in ADDITION 2 the Today show)," Minaj announced on Twitter.
Admission to the show will be granted to the first 1,500 fans to line up outside the venue after 12:00 p.m. Pepsi will also provide a live online stream of the performance.
Minaj, and all of YMCMB, staged a sudden and dramatic boycott of Summer Jam this year after Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg made dismissive comments about the "Starships" singer and suggested that her music wasn't "real hip hop."
