Rihanna Breaks New Record With 20 Top 10 Singles
Rihanna just snagged the 20th top 10 single of her career with her new hit "We Found Love," and the 23-year-old pop star earned the honor faster than any solo artist in history.
Sprinting to 20 top 10s in six years and four months, Rihanna beat a longstanding record held by Madonna. In 1990, Madge chalked up her 20th top 10 hit with the song "Hanky Panky," six years and nine months after her first single "Holiday" cracked the top tier. Rihanna's run claims the record by five months.
The only artist to reach 20 top 10s faster than RiRi is the Beatles, who invaded the charts with 20 hits between 1964 and 1966, beginning with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and extending to "Yellow Submarine."
"We Found Love," a passionate club anthem produced by Calvin Harris, is number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 in its second week. The song is the first single from Rihanna's sixth album, Talk That Talk, due November 21.
