Members of Patti LaBelle's Entourage Charged With Assault
Two members of Patti LaBelle's entourage have been charged with assault stemming from a March incident outside a Houston airport, local news has reported.
Efrem Holmes, LaBelle's bodyguard and Norma Harris, her hairdresser, have warrants out for their arrest after the two shoved West Point Cadet Richard King into a concrete pillar and caused him to fall and injure his head. King had been standing outside LaBelle's vehicle talking on a cell phone when he exchanged words with the legendary singer's son, who is also her driver. That's when Holmes and Harris approached him. A security camera captured the altercation.
LaBelle's entourage originally reported the incident as an attempted assault by King, but Houston police appear to have rejected those charges. King, who has since been suspended from West Point, has filed a lawsuit against LaBelle, Holmes and Harris. They have responded with a countersuit.
