Gucci Mane Released From Jail, Announces Party
The Gucci Mane watch is over. After much back and forth, Gucci is a free Mane.
The Atlanta rapper's lawyer confirmed to reporters on Friday that his client had been released from jail in the wee hours of the morning. He had been behind bars since April for a probation violation and failed to make bail. This week he saw his impending liberty delayed by one day due to a bureaucratic snafu.
“At approximately 4:35 in the morning Gucci Mane was released from Fulton County Jail,” Gucci’s lawyer, Ashutosh Joshi, said in a statement to XXLMag.com. "Late last night on July 7, the Georgia Department of Corrections released its hold that was preventing him from being released from the jail.”
Gucci had been sentenced to five months, but served only three due to overcrowding issues.
The "Lemonade" rapper took to Twitter soon after his release to greet his fans.
"I'm back b**** gucci back b**** did u miss me or my raps b****," he tweeted. Gucci even gave out the address for his official welcome home party tonight at Club Fathom in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Unfortunately, the troubled rap star will be back in court sooner rather than later. On August 15th, he will face charges stemming from an incident earlier this year in which he allegedly pushed a woman out of his Hummer.
