This past weekend West Coast rap veteran Mack 10 was noticeably missing from an album release party at Hollywood’s Key Club to celebrate his latest album, Money Musik. The rapper was hospitalized for diverticulitis, a condition that causes abdominal pain and inflammation of the colon.

According to a statement issued by his publicist, Mack 10 went under the knife to have the ailment corrected. He is said to be doing well after the surgery.

"Rapper Mack 10, who was hospitalized a week ago after suffering severe stomach pains, had surgery yesterday [April 11]. Six inches of the problem area in his stomach were removed. The surgery was successful and the rapper is expected to fully recover. He will remain in the hospital under the care of doctors for 10 more days. Mack 10 will complete his recovery at home with the support of family and close friends,” the statement read.

Money Musik, an LP Mack recorded in collaboration with Cali MC Glasses Malone, hit store shelves yesterday [April 12].
