A$AP Rocky Claims Clothing Store Fight Was Self-Defense
A$AP Rocky is fighting back against accusations that he assaulted a man in a New York clothing store last year and saying it was in self-defense. Shenick Alcine sued the rapper for attacking him after allegedly being busted doing drugs in the store. Rocky is now calling Alcine a liar who attacked him first and is asking for the lawsuit to be dismissed, TMZ reports.
The July 2012 incident led to Rocky's arrest after he noticed two photographers filming the altercation and redirecting his anger at them and supposedly trying to steal their cameras. He struck a plea deal in that case, paid a fine and served three days of community service.
"They said I tried to rob. I can't really talk into that, but it costs a lot of money just to be coming to court every month for something as petty as me stealing a camera in this day and age," Rocky said about the larceny charge. "It's one of those slaps on the wrists. That's when I calmed down for real. That was the last fight. That wasn't my first lawsuit."
