Rihanna's looking bold on the May cover of Elle magazine with a studded lambskin jacket and skirt from Versace, an oval link necklace and cable bracelets from David Yurman. Inside, she models off pieces from Emporio Armani, Dior, Gucci, and high-end lingerie. And based on her interview, her attitude is just as fierce as her looks: she tells Elle that she's going to do whatever she feels like doing - including talking to her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The two have since collaborated on two songs, "Birthday Cake" and "Turn Up The Music," which stirred up criticisms about her forgiving Brown for assaulting her in November 2009. But no matter what everyone else says, Rihanna makes it clear that she wants to move on from the incident and she's not about to apologize to anyone for her decisions.
"I respect what other people have to say. The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently," she tells the magazine about reconnecting with Brown. "It's very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that's alright. I don't hate them for it. Because tomorrow I'm still going to be the same person. I'm still going to do what I want to do."
"It gave me guns. I was like, well f--k. They know more about me than I want them to know. It's embarrassing," she said. "But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. I wanted people to know who I am. Whatever they take that to be, good or bad, I just want them to know the truth."
On a positive note, Rihanna also says "God will send me a little angel" once she find the right man.
“I feel like it’s hard for everybody! I don’t think it has anything to do with being famous. There’s just a major drought out there. […] But I just need to find the person who balances me out, because then things like my schedule won’t matter," she says. "I’ve done it before, so I know I can do it again."
The May issue of Elle hits newsstands May 17.
