Angela Simmons Goes Nude for PETA Campaign
Angela Simmons is the latest celeb to strip down to support the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal’s (PETA) campaigns.
Instead of the organization's usual nude “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” or “Ink Not Mink” campaigns, in which celebs like Taraji P. Henson and Amar’e Stoudemire have posed in the buff, PETA tapped Simmons for a new “Eating Meat Is a Sin," ad, aimed to help promote a vegetarian lifestyle. To drive the point home, the Pastry shoe designer was snapped in an “Adam and Eve” inspired photo shoot wearing nothing but long hair and an apple.
“Animals have feelings and I think it’s important to know what happens to them,” she said in a PETA video. “I don’t want to cause any controversy — I guess it’s weird that someone’s naked, but you don’t really see anything! I want to open people’s eyes up…and if this is where I can find my niche to help, I want to help.”
Angela explained that she was inspired by her uncle Russell to convert to a vegetarian diet and hopes to eventually become a vegan — cutting out the consumption of all animal products. About her vegetarian diet, Angela says, "I'm happy with it. I feel lighter — it's a good feeling."
