Tory Lanez’s Legal Team Calls Megan Thee Stallion Restraining Order ‘Ridiculous’
The legal team of Tory Lanez has responded to the restraining order sought by Megan Thee Stallion.
According to legal documents that surfaced on Wednesday, December 18, Lanez’s legal representation has accused Megan of being a liar, just one day after the 3-time Grammy winner filed for a restraining order against the rapper-singer, alleging harassment while he’s in prison. Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan, real name Megan Pete, in July 2020.
Lanez’s team writes that their “approach will focus on logic and common sense.”
The statement continued, “In regard to the ridiculous claim that a writ of habeas corpus was actually filed prior to the release of Ms. Pete's documentary in an attempt to undermine her work is ludicrous, we would like to point out that appellate courts impose strict timelines for when filings and responses must occur. Are the accusers now suggesting that the courts are trying to disrupt Ms. Pete's documentary? Our client, Mr. Peterson, was simply complying with those legal deadlines, as required by the courts.”
It was urged for “the public not to jump to conclusions” after receipts were shown of $3,000 in total payments to blogger Milagro Gramz, who Megan has also sued and accused of cyberstalking and spreading deepfake porn with her likeness online. The document instead pointed to Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, as the individual who would be “fully accounted for,” as Lanez allegedly did not orchestrate the payments.
The statement concludes with the attorneys condemning Megan's “pattern of behavior” and accusing her of having “openly admitted to lying on major public platforms.”
“At what point do we, as a society, stop believing the narrative they are pushing?” the message read. And ask ourselves, “enough is enough.”
In her restraining order request, Megan accused Lanez of recruiting a group of bloggers to spread defamatory statements about her, including Gramz, claiming that the two have a “conspiratorial relationship.” Megan now wants Lanez to cease harassing her directly and through other parties.
