Kanye Had Better Things to Do Than Attend New York Fashion Week
Stars like Beyonce, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj have been spotted running around New York this week for various Fashion Week events, but one face that was noticeably missing belongs to Kanye West.
Although the rapper made rounds at shows like Rodarte and Jeremy Scott last year, and had been rumored to show up on the spring runways for months, he’s left New Yorkers asking, “Where are you, Yeezy?”
Apparently, the rapper-turned-fashinisto skipped out on the Big Apple’s fashion shows to put the final touches on his own, which will reportedly show during Paris Fashion Week next month.
Christine Centenera of Harper's Bazaar Australia, who is said to be collaborating with Kanye on the collection, reports that he will show as part of the official Paris Fashion Week calendar (which has not yet been released), at 9:30 PM on Oct. 1, directly after Jean Paul Gaultier and Loewe. Meanwhile, Riccardo Tisci, who designed the artwork for West's new album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, is reportedly mentoring West on the collection.
