The original BET.com documentary Holler If You Hear Me: Black and Gay in the Church just received its first award nomination. The Black Reel Awards recognized the doc in the category of Outstanding TV Documentary or Special.
The Black Reel Awards, established in 2000, was created to highlight and acknowledge the achievements of African-Americans in feature, independent and television films. BET received a total of eight nominations, including five nods for Book of Negroes. Click here for the full list.
