Common Hosts His First PreOscars Bash
Common is making the most out of Oscars weekend. The first-time nominee, who is up for Best Original Song (along with John Legend) for his hit "Glory" from Selma, hosted his first annual PreOscar Celebration in Los Angeles on Saturday night, and it was the hottest ticket in town.
The biggest stars in Black Hollywood came out for the event. Shonda Rhimes, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Tyrese, Skylar Diggins, Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), Gayle King and more joined the cast and crew of Selma to celebrate the film's Best Picture nomination.
Executive producer Oprah Winfrey, director Ava DuVernay, stars David Oyelowo, Carmen Egojo and Andre Holland were among the Selma team on hand for the festivities, held at West Hollywood hot spot Ysabel. Guests arrived in a caravan of Cadillacs and sipped on Ciroc-infused cocktails, followed by dinner and dancing into the night.
Doesn't seem like anyone was concerned with being well-rested for tonight's awards show!
