Fifty Shades of Grey easily topped the President’s Day weekend box office with a massive $94.4 million debut. The film adaptation of the racy novel, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, predictably saw a huge bump on Valentine’s Day, making it the number two February opening of all time after Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ.
Coming in second place was Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, with an estimated gross of $41 million for the long weekend.

Taking the third spot was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, which brought in an estimated $30.5 million for the three days and will have made more than $100 million by Monday.
Rounding out the top five were Oscar-nominated American Sniper and Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis's Jupiter Ascending, which earned $16.4 million and $9.4 million, respectively, for the three-day weekend.
Next week, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, starring Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry, and teen comedy The DUFF will attempt to lure a few dollars away from the Fifty Shades juggernaut.
