More details have been revealed about Sherman Hemsley’s exact cause of death.

TMZ is reporting The Jeffersons star died of lung cancer. The actor’s post mortem report describes the primary cause of death as “superior vena cava syndrome,” a complication resulting from a cancerous mass on Hemsley’s lung.

The report, provided by the El Paso County Texas Medical Examiner, also says the Amen star was advised to get chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It is not known whether he was a smoker.

Last month, Hemsley, star of the long running and groundbreaking '70s sitcomThe Jeffersons, was found dead in his home at the age of 74.
