David Alan Grier is many moons away from his days on In Living Color. The Detroit native has been conquering Broadway and recently nabbed a Tony nod for his performance as Sportin' Life in the Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess.  
The musical was named Time magazine's number-one musical of the year and garnered a whopping 10 nominations, which included Audra McDonald and Norm Lewis. Grier, as the pimp Sportin' Life, also had a chance to show off his vocals, which many of us didn't know he had. A comedian, actor and vocalist, we had to sit down with Mr. Grier and talk all things Broadway and hear about the conversation he had with Chris Rock.
