Viola Davis Wins Big at 2012 Critics Choice Movie Awards
Could Viola Davis have Oscar gold in her future? Her chances are looking very good if how she fared at the 2012 Critics Choice Movie Awards is any indication.
Dressed in a plunging neckline coral-orange dress for the broadcast while delivering an emotional speech that paid homage to both her early days as a young struggling actress and the journey of real-life maids, Davis picked up the Best Actress statue for her portrayal of Aibileen Clark in the 1960s period drama The Help.
Co-star Octavia Spencer also earned the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Minny Jackson.
And the entire cast of the racially charged movie The Help took home took home awards for Best Acting Ensemble.
Even more so than the upcoming Golden Globe awards, the CCMAs are usually a good indicator of how Academy Awards will be awarded. Last year all four acting winners also won Oscars.
Get another showstopping gown ready Viola; this might be your lucky year.
